Landing Dream Clients

When you start a business, it’s the ultimate goal to land your dream clients – but how do you get to that point? There are so many different strategies and steps that go into consistently booking your dream clients, sometimes it can be overwhelming and honestly too much advice can start to feel like it’s nearly impossible to even get started.

I’ve been in business for almost 3 years now, and while I’m still learning to master that consistency, I have learned a few things along the way and I wanted to share with you what has worked for me thus far. There is always room for improvement, so while these things have worked for me, I’m always seeking out new and innovative ways to keep growing and thriving as a business. Hopefully these things can help you too.

BEING GENUINE & TRUE TO YOU GOES A LONG WAY

Instead of getting caught up in sharing, posting, and saying what everyone else is doing or what everyone “wants” – I’ve found that there is a lot more benefit from being genuine and true to you. Sharing the work and content that makes you the most excited, and showcasing the clients who you were truly passionate about will speak to others loudly.

REACH OUT AND CONNECT WITH YOUR DREAM CLIENTS

Connecting with your dream clients on a personal level is a huge step in landing them as your own clients. Don’t be afraid to speak to them with authenticity and honesty, ask them about their business, areas they are struggling in, and how you could potentially help. Sometimes, if being so direct doesn’t feel right just yet, get to know them in a genuine way, build a relationship and let them know you are in their corner. That way, when the time comes that they may need your services, you’ll be the first person they reach out to for help.

share your work and the details of the project

Showcase your work on your website, Pinterest, and social platforms. Each platform may need a different caption or description, but it’s important to consistently share the kind of work you want to be booking more of. On your website, you might share more about the objective of the project and how you achieved the clients goal, on social media you might share a tip on something specific to your industry. Either way, share, share, share.

keep up with writing your blog

This is something that I am still working on trying to be more consistent about, but something that I’m already seeing the results in. Blogging useful and rich content can reach dream clients, others in your industry, and ultimately land more eyes on your business. Promote your blogs on Pinterest to lead more people to read it, once they’re reading your blog they will find themselves on your website and then potentially looking around at your work and how you can serve them.

Blogging doesn’t have to be a chore, it can be something fun you do in your downtime, or a chance to free write and share your insights with others. Sometimes I like to write with old school pen and paper in a journal and then turn those entries into blogs. Other times I have ideas for titles or blog topics and I will put them in as drafts in my blogging platform, and then come back to them when I’m ready to sit down and write.

There is also the option of batching out a few blogs in one setting. If you set time aside to focus in and write for an hour or two, you can write a few blogs and then schedule them.

Whatever your approach, utilize blogging to your advantage.
